Don't miss these two gorgeous voices, Jurate Svedaite-Waller (soprano) and Susan Yankee (mezzo-soprano). Stabat Mater is both the Sequence for Our Lady of Sorrows and is used for Stations of the Cross. Pergolesi, the composer of the music, was commissioned by a wealthy family in Naples, Italy for a Good Friday Stations of the Cross. This duet paints the feeling of each station in such a way that you can relate to Mary in her grief as she watches each station. This is a free concert here at the Cathedral.
