It is not often that the Anniversary of the Dedication of our Cathedral falls on a Sunday. Our current church building was dedicated on September 28, 1879, thus marking our 146th anniversary. Part of our history is that we were a parish church before being made a Cathedral on December 9 in 1953 under Pope Pius XII. Bishop Flannigan was our first Bishop.
Because we are the Cathedral, this celebration may replace the Sunday readings as an option. At the 10:30AM Mass, we will take this opportunity and the music will reflect that.
